Rangers beat Stalybridge Celtic 2-0 at Marston Road thanks to Levi Reid’s strike and a stunning effort from Kieran Westwood.

That followed a 2-1 victory at Kitching’s old club Rushall Olympic and Boro are now 14th in the table.

They finished 13th last season, and Kitching said: “Performance have been good over the last few weeks.

“We’ve put in two really dominant, comfortable performances.

“Kieran’s goal on Saturday was great. It was a fantastic strike from 25 yards – an unbelievable shot.

“You’ve just got to stick with your beliefs and stick with the squad.

“Far too often we’ve not really turned up this season but over these last couple of games,

we’re looking a lot better.”

There are 12 games left of the campaign, with a trip to Barwell on Saturday – weather permitting – being their next test.

“We’re on course to finish in a stronger position than we did last year,” added Kitching.

“The remit has been to develop this club year on year and I think we’re on course to do that.”

Rangers’ Staffordshire Senior Cup quarter-final against Kidsgrove Athletic on Tuesday night was postponed due to a frozen pitch. A new date for the fixture will be set soon.
