Rangers had gone four games without a win before a 2-1 victory at Dales Lane.

Izak Reid and Kyle Perry got the goals on Tuesday night, bumping Boro up to 15th in the Evo-Stik Premier.

“I’m pleased with the performance more than anything,” said Kitching.

“Don’t get me wrong, the result is what you want – but I was over the moon with the response from the players.

“The response was magnificent after a disappointing result and performance on Saturday (a 1-0 loss at Farsley Celtic).

“It was a really professional, dominant performance at Rushall.

“I’m so chuffed for every player in the dressing room because they took some stick from me and (assistant) Nick (Amos) on Saturday.

“There were some home truths and they bounced back with a deserved three points.”

Kitching praised the front three of Reid, Perry and Massiah McDonald for their collective display at Rushall, and added: “I thought the three of them were a real handful – Kyle as the focal point, with a lot of pace either side of him.

“Izak and Kyle got the goals. Izak should have got another and Massiah had a good chance as well.

“We should have won by a couple more. I’m really pleased to have got the win.”
