Stafford Rangers’ mixed league form continued as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Matlock Town.
Matlock sent the visitors several warnings before breaking the deadlock after 13 minutes with Tyrell Waite beating the off-side trap before slotting home.
Despite threatening at the end of the first half Rangers found themselves two behind on 55 minutes when Michael Williams played in marksman Shaun Harrad to put his side 2-0 ahead.
Boro’s afternoon went from bad to worse on 69 minutes when they were reduced to 10-men after striker Richard Batchelor saw red for an elbow in the face of Adam Yates.
