Stafford Rangers boss Neil Kitching feels he is well on the way to having a strong squad for next season despite losing two regulars from last term.

The Boro chief is aiming high for next campaign in the Evo-Stik Premier and has added winger Louis Briscoe, midfielder Jack Langston and striker Richard Gregory to the club recently.

Full-back James Bowen and midfielder Mitchell Tolley left over the last week, to go to Hereford and Walsall Wood respectively, and Kitching said: “Disappointed to lose them, Bowen especially as he was our regular left-back last season, but that’s football.

“We could not compete with what Hereford were offering, and Mitchell decided he needed to be more local and step down to work commitments.

“We will miss them both but in terms of Mitch, we made a signing a fortnight ago in Jack Langston who’s a good midfielder.

“We will look at bringing in a replacement for James, but we do have three full-backs at the club as it is. It’s not a major concern for me.”

On bringing in players, Kitching added: “I would like to get two or three more in, or so, before we start.

“We kept on the core of last season’s squad and in Briscoe, Langston and Gregory, we have brought in players who can score goals.

“There is no rush for us at all. We have got the basis of the squad right, and now we will be patient and make sure anyone else who wants to come here is doing it for the right reasons, and will improve us.”
