VIDEO: Stafford Rangers 1 Basford United 1
Stafford Rangers were left to rue missed chances as Basford United came from behind to snatch a point in a 1-1 draw.
A Nathan Rooney strike had put Evo-Stik Division One South leaders Boro ahead in the 37th minute before a second-half wonder goal by Billy Bennett earned the home side a point.
The draw left Rangers' boss Neil Kitching reflecting on missed opportunities and telling his side to be ruthless.
He said: "I'm disappointed we haven't won, but I think with the context of the game with the slope and the conditions a point is a fair result.
"I'm disappointed we haven't won it because of the number of goalscoring opportunities we have created in the first half. We need to be ruthless."
Boro started well with debutant Lavell White going close and Sam Griffith firing too high.
Rooney struck the opener through a crowded box but in the second half Rangers, playing uphill and against the wind, conceded in the 71st minute to a Bennett thunderbolt.
