Back to back wins boost Stafford Rangers
Stafford boss Graham Heathcote praised his young guns after they secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
A fabulous second-half strike from Saul Henderson handed Boro' a deserved victory as they followed up Saturday's 2-1 win at Trafford in the Northern League Premier Division.
"It was our second game in three days and you could see that a few of the lads were struggling, but fair play to them," Heathcote said.
"The game was won by the side who showed the most enthusiasm rather than footballing ability. Having said that, it was a good goal that won it and was a goal that was worthy to win any game.
"It was important after Saturday to try and get another win and keep everyone buoyant. The fans have applauded them off and it should give them a little buzz."
A dull opening period had served up little goalmouth action although home keeper Andrew Jones was called on to push an Alex Meaney effort around the post.
The second half was a much livelier affair with Rangers substitute Jack Edwards heading the ball against the post while Andy Griffiths was denied by the Dabbers keeper.
The breakthrough came on 64 minutes. Henderson picked up the ball 25 yards out, cut inside his marker and steered a shot beyond Steve Jones in the visitors' goal. Two minutes later he shot into the side-netting.
Nantwich almost snatched an equaliser a minute from the end when former Boro' loanee Harry Clayton crashed a header just the wrong side of the post.
