Quick start for new Stafford Rangers boss Andy Mutch

Andy Mutch was today ready to hit the ground running after being appointed caretaker manager at Stafford Rangers.

The 49-year-old former Wolves ace took temporary charge yesterday after the Evo-Stik Northern League Premier strugglers sacked Greg Clowes on Sunday.

Mutch has almost no time to prepare before tonight's home game with Marine – and will meet the players for the first time about an hour before kick-off.

"It's not an easy situation, but then I don't think such a thing exists when you first come into a club," he said.

"The team is not doing well and they need a change of direction."

Struggling Rangers have lost their first seven games.
