Jermaine Johnson's vow to Rangers
Jermaine Johnson today vowed he will be back playing for Stafford Rangers next season with a "point to prove" after his horror leg break last month.
Johnson broke his fibula and suffered cruciate and medial ligament damage after colliding with Hednesford captain Dave MacPherson in the 2-2 draw.
The 21-year-old only rejoined Rangers from the Pitmen in the summer and is almost certainly out for the rest of the campaign but is still staying upbeat.
Rangers have lodged an insurance claim for the centre-back, who has been forced to quit his temporary job as an administrator at Birmingham College.
The former Derby County trainee is London-born but lives in Birmingham and needs financial help until he's back on his feet and able to work again.
But Johnson is adamant he will bounce back from the pain and anguish of the injury and wants to return to Rangers stronger for the experience.
He said: "That's when I play at my best, when I have got a point to prove, hopefully I will come back and show everyone what I am capable of.
"You will definitely see me in a Rangers shirt next season, the club is close to my heart and I have played most of my first-team football there.
"I am a Rangers supporter, if I am not at the game then looking out for their result and I am going to try and make it to most matches."
