Stafford Rangers just about hung on to a lead to register their most impressive pre-season win with a 3-2 victory in Wales at Cymru Alliance club Llandudno.

All the goals came after the break on Saturday, starting two minutes after half-time through Rangers winger Dean Clarke.

Clarke stood up to a set-piece and launched a free-kick with his right foot past Andy Rooney in the home goal.

Seven minutes later and Rangers were two up, in-form striker Simon Everall finding the net again although his shot took a deflection on its way in.

The hosts pulled one back through a Lee Jones free-kick with 16 minutes to go but Rangers restored the two-goal lead.

Summer signing Everall grabbed the fourth goal of his last two friendly games, just four minutes later.

A penalty for the home side set up a tense finale, Lee Thomas brought down with Lee Jones converting the spot kick, but Rangers held on.
