The Pics had surged into a two-goal lead in the first half .

Striker Sam Whittall hit the first when he fired in the rebound after his penalty was saved before former Wolves man Michael Kightly set up Nehemiah Zazi for a tap in minutes later to double the advantage as the home side looked to be cruinging.

However, Sporting had ahuge slice of luck to hit back when Whittall attempted to clear from his own goalmouth – only for the ball to ricochet into his own net off home defender Orrin Perry shortly before half-time.

The visitors then seized the second-half initiative after 65 minutes when Chris Lait levelled and they then went in front five minutes later thanks to Michael Taylor.

Pics had plenty of opportunities to get back on level terms but they went begging until substitute Eesa Sawyers fired high into the Sporting net with five minutes left on the clock.

There was yet more drama to come though and the home side went into delirium on 89 minutes when former Villa man Riccardo Calder fired a long-range rocket into the bottom corner to seal a stunning victory.

In the same division, rivals Hednesford Town went down 2-0 at Banbury United in a match which saw Danny Glover sent off.

In the Northern Premier League, Stafford Rangers brought home a point from Lincolnshire after a 1-1 draw with Grantham Town.

Rangers had taken a lead early in the second half when their corner was headed into the Grantham net by one of their own defenders.

However, Jody Banim’s men were unable to hang on for the win when Grantham’s Ryan Holland poked the ball home for a share of the spoils.
