Ex-Wolves winger Kightly could make Pics home debut
Former Wolves star Michael Kightly could make his home debut for Rushall Olympic tomorrow as the club bid to keep up their league form.
The 34-year-old retired from the game in 2019 before this month deciding to return to action with non-league Rushall.
The winger started their FA Cup first qualifying round loss to Grantham Town in midweek and is now in line to make his home bow when Liam McDonald’s side host Peterborough Sports tomorrow.
In their Southern Central Premier opener, the Pics won 1-0 away to Leiston.
Elsewhere in the league, Stourbridge will also be aiming to recover from a cup defeat and continue their streak in the league. In similar fashion to Rushall, the Glassboys also lost on penalties in midweek after a 3-3 draw with Tamworth.
Stourbridge opened their league account with a 4-1 win over Hednesford Town and tomorrow host Hitchin Town – who also won their opening league encounter.
Hednesford will be looking to recover when they travel to Lowestoft Town.
In Southern Central One, Halesowen Town host Barton Rovers. The Yeltz, who have seen Jamie Ashmore leave the club, won 1-0 in midweek in the FA Cup and 7-1 in their league opener against Yaxley.
After losing their Northern Premier opener 1-0 to Ashton United, Stafford Rangers recovered in the FA Cup with a 3-2 win over Worcester City.
Tomorrow they travel to Matlock Town – who also lost their first league game – as they aim to get their Premier season off and running.
Meanwhile, in the Northern One South East, Chasetown are away to Belper Town.
The hosts won their first league encounter this campaign, while Chasetown lost 3-2 to Frickley Athletic, courtesy of a injury time penalty.
In the Midland Premier League, top of the table Sporting Khalsa will be looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season when they travel to Heather St John’s.
Meanwhile, AFC Wulfrunians face Stourport Swifts, Walsall Wood are away to Newark, Lye Town host Selston and Tividale travel to Coventry United.
In the West Midlands League Premier Division, Bilston Town Community host Wolves Sporting, Cradley Town face Shifnal, Darlaston Town host Shawbury United, Dudley Sports host Pershore Town, Wednesfield face Wem and Wolverhampton Casuals travel to Littleton.
