Rushall Olympic 4Lowestoft Town 1 - Report
Two goals each for Chekaine Steele and Jonathan Letford maintained Rushall Olympic`s fine start to the season and saw them return to the top of the table. However the game was marred by a serious injury to Lowestoft Town`s Shaun Bammant which resulted in a thirty seven minute delay to the game.
It was the home side that made a flying start to the game and they were ahead in their first attack of the game on seven minutes when Chekaine Steele fired home from the edge of the area.
Three minutes later though the visitors were back on level terms when Bammant glanced home a header from a corner. The visitors were enjoying a good spell and Pics goalkeeper Jonathan Flatt kept his side in the game making good saves from the dangerous Jake Reed and they missed a great opportunity when Miguel Lopez fired wildly over from close range.
On twenty eight minutes though the home side went ahead when LETFORD finished superbly when he lifted the ball over the advancing Luis Tibbles in the visiting goal. Flatt made another fine save to keep out Jack Wilkinson`s free-kick and they could well have been on level terms on the stroke of half time but Williams fired over the bar. On the stroke of half time the home side were unlucky when Alex Moore saw his free-kick strike the top of the bar.
Two goals in a minute in the second half sealed the game for the home side. Danny O`Callaghan played a superb ball for LETFORD to keep his cool, round the keeper, before sidefooting the ball home and less than thirty second later STEELE completed an excellent afternoon for the home side by grabbing his second goal of the game.
Ten minutes from time came the unfortunate injury to Bammant and after a thirty seven minute delay the game got underway with no further incidents
