Apart from the opening fifteen minutes or so, when the visitors opened brightly, once the home side got a foothold in the game then there was only going to be one winner.

On five minutes home `keeper Joe Slinn pushed away a shot from Byron Lawrence and it took eighteen minutes for the Pics first sight at goal when Dyan Parker chased down a long ball, played it back to Tyler Lyttle, whose first time cross found the head of Massiah McDonald but Marcus Garnham in the Leiston goal made a terrific save.

Three minutes later there was an even better chance for Rushall but Parker`s close range header again brought the best out of Garnham who pushed the header away for a corner and when the kick came over Orrin Pendley`s powerful header was cleared off the line.

The goal the home side had been threatening duly arrived on the half hour mark when McDonald`s through ball set Parker away and the young Walsall loanee kept his cool to slide the ball past Garnham to score his first goal for the club.

Thirty seconds later saw the home side double their lead when a fantastic thirty yard pass from Lyttle found Ben Lund, who controlled the ball superbly, before placing his shot wide of Garnham into the far corner.

Four minutes before half time there was a close call for the Pics when Byron Lawrence`s free-kick flashed just wide

The home side almost increased their lead twelve minutes into the second half but Lund`s shot trickled just wide but despite plenty of possession the visitors were finding it difficult to create any opportunities thanks to a dominant defensive performance from the home side

The closest they came was when Stuart Boardley`s attempted chip cleared the bar and then a great block from Pendley denied Hammond and Slinn made a terrific save to keep out a fierce shot from Christy Finch
