Rushall Olympic 4 St. Ives Town 1 - Report
Two goals in each half saw Rushall Olympic sweep to a convincing victory over a battling St. Ives Town to make it back to back home victories.
It took a while for the game to spring into life but two goals in the space of three minutes, shortly before half time turned the game in the home side`s favour.
Three minutes before the break Joe Hull headed home Tyler Lyttle`s corner and then a well worked corner saw Ben Lund glance home a header.
It was the home side who began the second half well on top and straight from the kick-off they could have gone further in front but another excellent cross from Lyttle just evaded the outstretched boot of Richard Brodie and then when Lunn played the ball back to Ashley Sammons the impressive midfielder curled his shot inches over the bar.
Another sweeping move involving AJ Adelekan and Edwin Ahenkorah ended with Kevin Monteiro heading wide and visiting goalkeeper Sam Wilson pulled off a fine save to keep out Lund`s close range header after another Lyttle cross.
It was Lyttle again who set up another opportunity when he picked out Monteiro who found Lund but the striker curled his shot wide.
The Pics did go three up when Sam Whittall sidefooted home from close range and ten minutes from time substitute Justin Richards, scored his first goal for the club, when he converted a penalty.
The visitors did pull a goal back when substitute George Bailey slotted home from an acute angle but it was little more than a consolation.
