Daniel Waldron scores for Rushall

The home side got off to a perfect start by taking a second minute lead when Danny Waldron headed home Ben Lund`s cross.

Three minutes later the Waders were close to an equaliser but Joe Slinn got down well to keep out Peter Clark`s low shot.

On nine minutes the home side saw a flowing move come to an end when Tyler Lyttle`s intended cross was cut-out by visiting `keeper Sam Donlin and as the home side kept up the pressure a nice one-two between Waldron and Ashley Sammons saw the striker set up Gurjit Singh whose first time shot was blocked for a corner.

The Pics went close to doubling their lead but the dangerous Waldron saw his lob clear the bar but in the twenty sixth minute they were stunned when Matt Ball fired home the equaliser when his right foot shot found the bottom corner.

Two minutes before the interval though the home side were back in front.

Sam Whittall began the move with a superb Crossfield pass which Lyttle took in his stride and cut the ball back for Gurjit Singh to fire home

The Waders were back on level terms just two minutes when Tom Smith headed powerfully home from a corner.

The game continued to swing from end to end and Rushall had penalty appeals waved away by the referee and at the other end a well worked move ended when Jonny McNamara`s shot was wide.

As the home side searched for a winner Waldron robbed a defender but curled his shot inches over the bar and as the visitors replied they thought they had grabbed a winner when Davi Long-King, intercepted a poor pass from Wes Atkinson but Slinn in the Pics goal rescued the day by tipping his effort on to the bar and out for a corner.
