It was the Pics that drew first blood on 16 minutes when Gurjit Singh danced round the Nantwich right back before lashing a well placed shot past Krystian Burzynski into the bottom corner.

Nantwich went close again on 29 minutes when a ball into the box was half cleared to Jordan Davies, whose dipping shot landed just wide of the post.

Rushall’s lead was doubled on 39 minutes thanks to a lovely team goal. The move started with Sam Whittall and AJ Adelekan at the back and ended with Andre Landell playing a through ball that Danny Waldron got on the end of to dink over Burzynski.

The Dabbers started the second half brighter, and grabbed a goal back on 51 minutes through Clayton. The striker received a ball in from the right and guided it past Biddle to make it 1-2.

Rushall could have restored the two goal cushion on 73 minutes with a counter attack by Mathis Fonovich and Andre Landell. The latter played a ball in from the right to Richard Brodie, whose shot is inches from finding the top corner.

Milan Butterfield nearly sealed all three points in stoppage time when he picked the ball up 35 yards out. The Bermudan teed himself up to shoot but his effort landed agonisingly wide of the left hand post. It wasn’t to matter though, as the Pics held out for another three points.
