The home side went agonisingly close to a deserved lead on 22 minutes when recent signing Kailan Gould burst through the Coalville defence. His chipped effort over Matthew Coton dropped just wide of the far post.

Dean Freeman put the Leicestershire side ahead on 35 minutes against the run of play after rising above his marker to nod home a deep Daniel Creaney cross.

The second half started with few chances for either side thanks to some stoic defending from both back fours.

The game burst into life on 78 minutes, when Landell levelled the scores with a superb turn and finish inside the Coalville box.

Two minutes later down the other end Rushall thought they’d grabbed a winner when they bundled the ball into the back of the net after a goalmouth scramble but the linesman’s flag denied them.

The big talking point came on 89 minutes after Ravens captain Steve Towers handled the ball from a Rushall shot. Referee Williams sent Towers off and awarded a penalty after some consultation with his assistant but Landell’s attempt from 12 yards was fired over the bar and both sides finished the game with a share of the spoils.
