Harriers agree deal to sign Danny Wright from Gateshead
Kidderminster Harriers have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of striker Danny Wright from Gateshead.
The 30-year-old has signed a deal through to the end of the season and goes straight into manager Gary Whild's squad for tonight's game at Aldershot.
Wight, who has scored ten goals for The Heed this season, can count Wrexham, Cambridge United and Histon amongst his former clubs, and has netted
more than 80 times in almost 300 league appearances throughout his career.
"I'm delighted to join Kidderminster," said Wright.
"In the end things didn't quite work out how I thought they would at Gateshead, and Kiddy are closer to home to my family near Gloucester - I'm hoping to settle down somewhere and get my career back on track.
"It's a good move for everyone involved, so hopefully I can hit the ground running and help kick Kidderminster on towards the play-offs.
"I've scored 10 goals already for Gateshead this season in a relatively short period of time so I'm looking to do the same for Kiddy.
"I've been in and around the play-offs with Wrexham, which is where I know Creights from, and I got there with Histon when we finished third in the Conference in 2009.
"I've had plenty of experience in this league and hopefully I can use that to bring to the squad and give us a boost.
"I've met a few of the lads already and I'm glad to be available for selection tonight.
"It's just nice to get back down south, get amongst the lads and get playing again.
"I'll be working hard, which is a big part of my game - I put in a lot of hard work as a big target man."
Harriers are currently eighth in the Vanarama Premier – just a point outside the play-offs.
"I want to bring plenty of positives to the team and some experience to help us kick on," added Wright.
"I'm confident in myself to bring some quality to the team and hopefully that can have a good effect.
"I can't wait to get going, get back to playing football and scoring goals."
