Creighton, who made 158 appearances for the club during three seasons, has become part of manager Gary Whild's new-look backroom team.
Nicknamed The Beast, Creighton was hugely popular with supporters and skippered the club to the FA Trophy final in 2007.
The 32-year-old, who first worked with Whild at Redditch United and also played for Oxford and Wrexham, was forced to retire from playing last summer through injury.
