Ken Rae appointed chairman of Kidderminster Harriers
Kidderminster Harriers have moved to appoint Ken Rae as new club chairman following Mark Serrell's shock resignation.
Serrell quit last night citing abuse he had received on social media sites as the key reason behind his decision. His wife Ruth has also left her post as director.
Rae, a club director, has now taken the reins until the end of the season.
A statement on the club's website read: "The Directors have acted swiftly to make this decision and hope that supporters will be assured that the current Board are committed to stability at this time.
And Rae himself added: "As a Board we cannot thank Mark and Ruth Serrell enough for what they have done but, as they would agree, the most important thing at this moment is that our focus remains on the current playing season.
"We have another huge game on Tuesday evening and I'd really like to ask that all supporters please get behind their manager and their players."
