Andy Thorn: I'm proud of Kidderminster Harriers

Kidderminster Harriers's boss Andy Thorn was delighted with his sides performance as they excited the FA Cup to Sunderland.

"I was immensely proud of the players," Thorn said,"they were magnificent. We set our stall out because we knew it wouldn't be easy at a Premier League club.

"When you concede as early as we did, sometimes you can end up with a cricket score and it can run away.

"But I was really pleased with the way we regrouped and showed character and belief in what we're trying to do at the club.

"For us to be in our dressing room disappointed we're not coming away with a draw speaks volumes of the performance the players put in.

"Michael Gash had a great chance and didn't do anything wrong – the keeper pulled off a magnificent save low down and in another day that would go in.

"Frederick Ladapo had a chance late on and we had a couple go across the face of goal.

"And I though the way we defended and worked as a team was good.

"We put in a hell of a lot of work on organisation and apart from their goal I thought a lot of their efforts were long-range chances that you would expect us to deal with.

"We didn't really get opened up until the last 10 minutes, when I had to go for it and we were more open with two centre-forwards.

"Before that we were really comfortable."
