Joe Lolley brace helps Kidderminster Harriers see off Wrexham
Joe Lolley scored twice as Kidderminster Harriers moved back into second place in the Skrill Premier table following an incident-packed win over 10-man Wrexham, writes Chris Oldnall.
Chey Dunkley also got on the scoresheet for Harriers during a feisty encounter in which the Dragons had former Aggborough striker Andy Bishop sent off on 79 minutes.
His dismissal followed a controversial incident earlier in the second half when Wrexham substitute Adrian Cieslewicz drilled in a shot which clearly went over the line and passed through a gap in the netting.
Referee Amy Fearn mistakenly awarded a goal-kick, sparking angry Wrexham players into hotly disputing her decision which she changed after consulting the fourth official during a lengthy hold-up in play.
Harriers' boss Steve Burr had no qualms about the award of the controversial 71st-minute goal, which brought the visitors back into the game after trailing 2-0.
He said: "It was a goal, there's no question. It's the first time I've seen a fourth official give a decision since I've been managing anywhere. But the goal was a goal."
Burr's high-flyers, who lost to Wrexham in last season's play-off semi-finals, are now unbeaten in their last eight matches at Aggborough.
Harriers opened the scoring slightly against the run of play in the 31st minute when a cross by Danny Jackman led to Lolley firing in a first-time shot.
Michael Gash had an effort blocked on the line in the closing stages of the first half while Wrexham almost equalised just after the interval when a Jay Harris shot struck the bar and goalkeeper Danny Lewis before going to safety.
Lolley added to his growing reputation as a star of the future by putting Harriers 2-0 ahead on 64 minutes following a good run by Lee Vaughan.
Harriers sealed the points with a fine 78th-minute header by Dunkley following a pin-point cross from Vaughan.
A minute later Bishop was sent off after a flare-up with Kyle Storer.
