Josh Gowling plays through pain for Harriers

Kidderminster Harriers defender Josh Gowling will continue to play through the pain barrier during the trip to Forest Green.

The 29-year-old was carrying a thigh injury going into last weekend's 5-1 win at home to Dartford but played then and again at Hereford United on Boxing Day.

Former Stourbridge centre-back Sam Smith was signed as cover but failed to make the bench, as Gowling recovered enough to start in the 1-0 win at Edgar Street.

That made it seven straight league wins for Harriers and Gowling, whose short-term contract with the club expires next month, will again partner Cheyenne Dunkley.

Tomorrow's game at the New Lawn against big-spending Green, who are sixth, takes Steve Burr's fifth-placed men to the team that beat them 1-0 at Aggborough in August.

Burr said: "They are having a good season and they should be – they have had a lot of financial input into the club and into the team.

"Their manager, Dave Hockaday, has brought some really good players in there and we know how difficult it will be.

"They came here in August and were probably, I felt, the best team that has come to Aggborough this season.

"They had a bit of fortune on the day to get the win but they are a good side."
