Harriers check on duo's fitness for FA Trophy

Kidderminster Harriers will check on the fitness of Danny Pilkington and Callum Gittings for the FA Trophy trip to Alfreton.

Both starred in the 2-0 Blue Square Premier win at Telford last weekend, Pilkington in his first start for over a month, but picked up knocks in the game.

That has hampered the duo this week but Gittings trained yesterday and both will be assessed prior to kick-off at the Impact Arena tomorrow afternoon.

Harriers face league rivals at the first stage in FA competition for the second time in succession, after drawing Grimsby in the FA Cup earlier this season.

But Alfreton could have one eye on their own FA Cup game against Leyton Orient next weekend as they prepare for home ties on two Saturday's in a row.

Harriers assistant boss Gary Whild said: "We have been playing well and the lads are confident, coming off the back of a couple of wins.

"Certainly from a management point of view, we would love to have a run in the trophy and do well in the competition.

"We always, wherever we go, look to be positive and set up to try and win the game and tomorrow will be no different.

"We know what to expect with Alfreton – we have been there already this season and we will be prepared for them."

Harriers had to come from behind to snatch a point in the league match at Alfreton on Saturday September 22.

Former Harriers midfielder Dan Bradley put the home side ahead in the first-half but Anthony Malbon equalised after the break.
