Kidderminster Harriers will make late fitness checks on goalkeeper Nathan Vaughan and striker Richard Peniket at Cambridge.

Vaughan was left carrying a hamstring injury after Saturday's 1-1 draw at Alfreton, while Peniket had to be replaced in the second-half with a groin strain.

But Harriers boss Steve Burr is hopeful both will shake off their knocks to be involved in tonight's Blue Square Premier match at the Abbey Stadium.

However, Danny Lewis stands-by to replace Vaughan between the sticks if the worse comes to the worse, while Ryan Rowe will be eyeing Peniket's spot.

Steve Guinan also returns after being rested at Alfreton which left Harriers still seeking their first win of the season, after five losses and five consecutive draws.

Burr said: "I don't think we have nervous players here, because you can see there are good signs from the way we are managing to play.

"Our performances aren't poor – they are decent enough. But, obviously, when you don't win it can get into the players heads.

"That can cause a situation where, if you go a goal behind, heads do drop. In the games we have drawn, we have kept going and that has been pleasing.

"Their expectations from their supporters, like our supporters, are that they should be right up there and rightly so.

"We have just got to go there and try and get that first win and I don't think we are too far away from getting that.

"We are creating a lot of chances and, at some point, they are going to go in."
