Harriers in Kyle Storer surgery boost
Kidderminster Harriers midfielder Kyle Storer could be back in action within six weeks after surgery on his knee was rated a success.
Kidderminster Harriers midfielder Kyle Storer could be back in action within six weeks after surgery on his knee was rated a success.
Storer was hurt in last weekend's 2-2 draw at home to Southport and initial fears were that the 25-year-old would be out long-term.
The playmaker then went straight under the knife on Monday and is just beginning his recovery, which might be sooner than expected.
Harriers physio Gavin Crowe had warned it could take three months for Storer to get back to full fitness, depending on the operation.
How Storer's knee responds in the next few days still could be an issue but the first news from the Harriers treatment room is positive.
Crowe said: "Our concerns were that the injury he sustained could well have resulted in him being out for as long as three months.
"But, all being well and depending on how he responds, we should be looking at getting Kyle back fit within six weeks or so.
"Initially it will be an issue of bringing down his swelling and increasing his range of movement, before we start on anything else.
"However, the news is certainly better than it might have been."
