Kidderminster Harriers defender Mickey Demetriou today vowed the club will rebound and get back into Blue Square Premier play-off contention.

Demetriou's 89th minute goal salvaged a point at Braintree on Tuesday night, their second after taking a draw from Barrow last weekend.

That halted a run of five straight losses and, despite dropping 22 points from a possible 24, the full-back insists Harriers will shoot up the table.

Boss Steve Burr has steered the side to two successive sixth place finishes and put seven and eight game unbeaten runs together last season.

After two games without defeat, Demetriou is urging his team-mates to start turning draws into wins with Harriers second-bottom in the early table.

He said: "We have a lot of team spirit, a lot of lads who want to do well for the club and we won't be giving up.

"We can get oursleves out of the hole that we are in, at the moment, because we don't stop trying.

"We are going to get out of the bottom four and straight back into the play-offs, where we were last season.

"We have got two home games coming up and we will be looking for six points, starting with a win against Southport on Saturday.

"If we can do that and beat Grimsby, confidence will start to fly and we will keep picking up points, it will start to fall for us.

"The gaffer is sticking by us, as well, and we want to repay him."
