Kidderminster Harriers are considering reporting league rivals Mansfield to the Football Association over their alleged move for captain Exodus Geohaghon.

Harriers boss Steve Burr revealed he was told Geohaghon had been approached by the Stags with an offer that was "too good to turn down."

The 27-year-old only arrived in July but is tied to a one-year deal and any approach that did not go through official channels could be punishable.

Chairman Mark Serrell today insisted that the club are investigating how the player was made aware of the interest, with boss Burr talking to Mansfield.

And Serrell refused to rule out making an official complaint to the FA over the matter for unsettling the player if they can prove it.

He said: "We are trying to get clarification but we know what we think has happened and, in the next day or so, you will see a decision.

"If Mansfield have approached Exodus, he's a contracted player. We will be very disappointed and feel it's unprofessional.

"Once we have got all of the facts together, we can act on the matter. We need hard evidence.

"If there has been an illegal approach to the player and we can prove it, it's up to us to make a decision.

"I know Steve is speaking to Mansfield but, as chairman, I haven't had any correspondence from them."

Serrell also vowed that the player won't force the club to allow him to leave ahead of tomorrow's 11pm transfer deadline.

"It isn't Exodus' decision to make, he goes nowhere unless the club says so, he should know how these things work by now.

"If the rumours are true, that he has been offered double his wages or whatever, we will deal with situation as it arises.

"It's up to the manager to decide, he's a quality player and he will only leave if it's in our best interests."
