Kidderminster Harriers were today preparing for their Blue Square Premier clash with Lincoln without Marc Williams after releasing the striker by mutual consent.
Two days after Luke Medley was let go, fellow forward Williams has joined him after scoring in his final game for the club less than 24 hours earlier.
The 23-year-old notched in Harriers' 6-2 Worcestershire Senior Cup win over Evesham but the decision about his future had already been made.
Manager Steve Burr signed two strikers in the January transfer window, Anthony Malbon and Marvin Johnson, so has now cleared the decks.
Johnson scored a hat-trick on his debut against Evesham but Malbon went off at half-time, with the dead leg that is set to rule him out tomorrow.
Midfielder Callum Gittings was today rated 'touch and go' after a kick to the shin in midweek but right-back Lee Vaughan is fit.
Vaughan was complaining of a sore calf after the game but rest has done the trick and he is available to play against David Holdsworth's men.
Lincoln come to Aggborough after a poor season back in non-league football and sit 16th, with their promotion hopes over some time ago.
Harriers won 1-0 at Sincil Bank in their first away game of the season and the Imps' struggles have not surprised assistant boss Gary Whild.
He said: "Lincoln will be the first to admit that they have found it difficult and there have probably been one or two wake-up calls.
"They are a big club, but this league is full of big clubs and all of the ones coming down have found themselves in a similar position.
"It just shows the strength of this league."
