Kidderminster Harriers new signing Anthony Malbon has admitted the pressure is already off after his dream debut goal at Alfreton.

Just 24 hours after his £7,000 move from part-timers Newcastle Town, Malbon climbed off the bench to score in injury time of Saturday's 2-0 win.

The 20-year-old has signed an 18-month deal and, after 30 goals for Newcastle this season, hopes he has brought his hot streak with him.

The former Port Vale youngster had been sent on with 14 minutes left and his finish forced the breakthrough, before Jamille Matt scored a second.

Malbon said: "I was happy to come off the bench and score but I think the most important thing was that we got the three points.

"I think it helps me settle down a bit more quickly, as I don't have that pressure now of getting that first goal.

"I was happy to just have the chance, really, and hopefully I have made an impression."
