Kidderminster Harriers could hit double figures on two counts if they can open their 2012 with a win at Forest Green Rovers on New Year's Day.

Harriers' unbeaten run will be extended to 10 games if they avoid defeat, which would also make it 10 games without a loss against their hosts.

Rovers last beat Harriers 2-1 at the New Lawn in February 2007 and the two clash again for the second time over the festive season.

Jack Byrne headed the only goal of the game in Harriers' 1-0 win at Aggborough on Boxing Day but the match-winner could miss the trip.

The midfielder picked up a knock to the knee in battle and is a major doubt, but could be given a late fitness test.

Harriers could climb into the play-off spots with a good result and manager Steve Burr wants his side to kick on into the New Year.

He said: "The run we have been on has put us right in there and now it's important that we try and kick on into the New Year.

"All games are winnable and, if we play like we have been doing, we have every chance of getting three points.

"But Forest Green are having a good season themselves, it's the first time for a number of years they haven't been struggling with relegation.

"Perhaps they are a surprise package, but I know the chairman has ploughed quite a bit of money into the club so I expected them to do well.

"It's a lovely stadium there, lovely pitch, it always suits a passing style of game, they like to do that and so do we."
