Kidderminster Harriers manager Steve Burr believes midfield duo Jack Byrne and Kyle Storer could represent the "the future of the club."

Byrne and Storer have cemented their places back in the team over the last two FA Trophy games with Vauxhall Motors, after injury lay-offs.

Storer's 'flick and turn' goal that helped Harriers on their way to settling the tie on Tuesday night had boss Steve Burr purring, while Byrne scored in the first game.

Both are still working on match sharpness - Byrne spent weeks out through illness while Storer has just recovered from a fractured cheekbone.

But boss Burr believes, if they can stay fit, the two could be cornerstones of the Harriers team for some time to come.

He said: "They are both young lads, which is very encouraging for us as a team. If we want to build on things here, they are going to be the future of the club.

"Jack has come back into the side after what was a really bad illness - to get over that took some time.

"He is still maybe short on match fitness but he is getting there and, don't forget, that Kyle also had a very nasty injury to his cheek.

"His goal the other night was probably one of the best I've seen in my time here - and we've seen some good ones.

"He's just starting to get back into it and pick up the pace of the game, which is pleasing."
