Harriers wait on David Bird decision

Kidderminster Harriers are not planning to sort out the future of borrowed midfielder David Bird until after the loan deadline.

Bird is on loan from Cheltenham but, as his deal expires after Saturday's visit of Cambridge, an extension would not be bound by tomorrow's deadline.

Harriers could opt to take the 26-year-old for a second and even third month but haven't made a decision on his future.

Former Aston Villa star Lee Hendrie has signed since Bird arrived while his parent club, managed by ex-Harriers boss Mark Yates, may recall him.

It's up in the air for Bird and Harriers assistant manager Gary Whild insists that will remain the same until after Saturday's game.

He said: "We haven't yet had a conversation with Dave about what will follow his first month and obviously a lot of that is down to Cheltenham as well, because he is their player.

"But he has come in, done well and is an experienced player - we'll have to sit down and see where we go with it."
