Lee Hendrie waits for Harriers debut
Lee Hendrie could make his Kidderminster Harriers bow at Aggborough after injury delayed his debut on Saturday.
Lee Hendrie could make his Kidderminster Harriers debut at Aggborough after injury curtailed his involvement on Saturday.
Hendrie was set to be named in the squad that won 3-1 at Hayes & Yeading but sat out the trip with a slight thigh strain.
However, the 34-year-old's injury is not serious and he could recover in time for this Saturday's Blue Square Premier clash at home to Cambridge.
Manager Steve Burr refused to risk Hendrie, who hasn't played full-time football at all this season, calling his omisson "sensible."
The Harriers boss today assured supporters that Hendrie is committed to the cause and revealed the veteran was "gutted" to miss out on Saturday.
Burr said: "There was nobody more disappointed than Lee himself that we had to put his debut on hold until he was 100 per cent right and I can assure all supporters of that.
"Coming into a new club and picking up an injury in training can be part and parcel of football sometimes but he was gutted, to say the least.
"He trained all week and looked good - it was just sensible that we didn't take the risk of playing him and making it worse."
