Kidderminster Harriers new-boy Lee Hendrie has been tipped to become an "asset" at Aggborough - by the only player in the squad older than him.

Former Aston Villa and England midfielder Hendrie is awaiting his debut at Hayes & Yeading in the Blue Square Premier on Saturday.

The 34-year-old appears in non-league football's top tier for the first time in another crack at the full-time game, after joining on non-contract forms.

And Guinan, 35, believes Hendrie will prove he still has what it takes, after revealing the two have already joked about their 'elder statesman' status.

He said: "I would have been delighted if Lee was a bit older than me, if I'm honest! We've trained together and I gave him a bit of stick about his wrinkles and his sun tan!

"But having seen glimpses of him since he's been here, I am pretty sure will be an asset and the club and the lads have already taken him to heart."

Harriers allowed striker Luke Medley to join Blue Square Premier rivals Lincoln on loan today.

Medley, who has yet to score since his summer move from Mansfield, will be at Sincil Bank until January 1.
