Kidderminster Harriers academy boss Jerry Gill believes his fledglings will come up against their toughest test yet when Carlisle come to Aggborough in the FA Youth Cup.

Harriers take on the Football League club in the second round tonight, who dumped out Sheffield Wednesday at the last hurdle two weeks ago.

Conversely, Harriers have had to come through three qualifying rounds and the first round proper, all home ties, beating Nuneaton Griff, Stone Dominoes, Matlock and Brighouse Juniors on the way.

But Gill, the ex-Birmingham defender, admits the bar will be raised for his hopefuls in tonight's game with the new youth set-up only formed in the summer, in conjunction with Stourbridge College.

He said: "To pit our wits against a side like Carlisle United, who are established in the Football League, it's the kind of evening we want and the kind of stage on which I want to test my players.

"We are involved in the Conference Youth League which is a very strong division but we won't have come up against the quality of opposition we'll face tonight."
