Kidderminster Harriers may have to wait until after Saturday's trip to Darlington to cover their bases by signing a new goalkeeper.

Harriers released Tommy Wright this week, who had been on non-contract forms, to free up room in the wage bill for another addition to the squad.

Their need for cover between the sticks began when Player of the Year Danny Lewis damaged his anterior cruciate ligament two weeks ago, ruling him out for six to nine months.

Dean Lyness has taken over as No 1 but needs cover, as the only senior goalkeeper on the books at Aggborough.

Manager Steve Burr is facing a race against time before they travel to the North East, with the Harriers boss praying nothing happens to Lyness.
