Morrell had overseen a disappointing start to the Southern Premier season for the Pitmen following three defeats and a draw in their opening four league games.

A brief statement from Hednesford read: "The club will release a further statement later this week, to the amazing fan base, who have supported this new chapter of the club, as to the next steps that the club will be making and to who will be taking over on an interim basis.

"However, for now we hope you all wish Andy Morrell a huge thank you for all his hard work and efforts which have been considerable behind the scenes and wish him all the best for future endeavours."

Hednesford welcome Stratford Town to Keys Park on Saturday with the club searching for their first win of the season.
