Hednesford Town could have as many as four new faces in their squad tomorrow – as the rebuilding work done by management duo Rob Smith and Larry Chambers picks up steam.

The Pitmen welcome Witton Albion to Keys Park on Non-League Day having won their last two fixtures in the Evo-Stik Premier.

That put to bed back-to-back heavy defeats from the week before, and Smith – who rejoined the club last month – is looking to add some depth to his squad to keep their momentum going.

"Spirit is definitely better in the camp and we are looking a more solid outfit," said the Hednesford boss, who is hoping to seal two loan deals and a pair of non-contract signings. "We are looking to see if we can bring in a bit more quality."

On easing back into life at Keys Park, having departed for AFC Telford United in 2015 after five years in Staffordshire, Smith added: "It's been easy to settle back in because I know the club so well, but it's been difficult on the pitch because the team wasn't good enough.

"We had a great time there before and the only reason I took the job is because I believe we can bring good times back.

"I think Hednesford is a National North club – we had good crowds and were always competing at the right end."

Elsewhere in the Evo-Stik Premier, Rushall Olympic – beaten 7-1 by Grantham on Tuesday – travel to Altrincham.
