Hednesford Town suffer away reversal
Hednesford suffered a 3-2 reverse on their first league away trip of the season at Matlock Town.
A nervy start saw the experienced Shaun Harrad head a left wing cross past James Wren in the sixth minute.
An equaliser soon came as an inviting free kick from Kris Taylor was knocked past Phil Barnes in the Matlock goal by one of his own players.
The Pitmen’s Jordan Wheatley conceded a penalty which Rhys Sharpe duly converted before a scramble at the other end saw a penalty awarded to to the Pitmen which James Lawrie tucked away.
However, the game was settled by Shaun Harrad, whose close control in the box allowed him to fire home.
