Halesowen Town wait on Trophy ruling
Halesowen Town are today waiting to hear whether their crunch FA Trophy semi-final will go ahead as scheduled.
The Yeltz are set to welcome Concord Rangers in the first leg on Saturday March 21 but the coronavirus outbreak has thrown the competition into doubt.
After the Premier League and EFL chose to suspend their leagues until April 3 ‘at the earliest’, the FA are now meeting today to discuss whether the FA Trophy and FA Vase fixtures will be played as normal.
Halesowen’s league fixtures in the Southern Central Division have already been postponed until March 22.
The club sold-out more than 3,000 tickets for the first clash against Concord but have not yet received tickets for the reverse fixture.
As they await the news from the FA, the club released a statement which read: “We are yet to receive our allocation of tickets for the away leg at Concord Rangers scheduled to take place on Saturday March 28. Once the FA decision has been made, we will decide when these tickets will go on sale and update everyone on the status of the competitions.”
