John Hill bows out on losing note at Halesowen Town
John Hill’s six-year reign in charge of Halesowen Town was brought to an end with a 2-0 defeat at AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
He leaves the Yeltz one place above the relegation zone in Southern Central, after a promising first half failed to yield a positive result for his side.
Hill officially parted ways with the club last week, but agreed to oversee two final matches.
And Rushden made sure of an unhappy send-off thanks to goals from Ben Farrell and Tom Lorraine.
Stourbridge closed the gap on Southern Central leaders Kettering Town with a 2-1 win at Biggleswade Town last night.
They had to come from behind though, with Greg Mills levelling from the penalty spot before Robert Thompson-Brown netted late from a free-kick to take all three points.
In the Staffordshire Senior Cup, a Walsall XI were eliminated by Newcastle Town, going down 4-2.
Meanwhile, Kidderminster Harriers have re-signed striker George Waring on a short-term loan from Tranmere Rovers.
