Halesowen Town 2 King's Lynn Town 2: Report
Halesowen remain unbeaten at home but had to finally settle for just a point after recovering from an early setback to take a second-half lead.
There were two goals in the first six minutes of an even first half and it was the Linnets who made a perfect start to their first league game under caretaker managers Robbie Back and Neil Fryatt as they grabbed the lead with the first attack of the game. A 2nd minute long free-kick from Michael
Clunan was headed back at the far post by Ryan Fryatt for Craig Parker to turn the ball home on the goal-line.
But the Yeltz were soon back on level terms when Jack Kelly crossed from the left for James Roberts to side-foot home with confidence in the 6th minute.
New home signing Babucar Sauane then curled wide in the 14th minute and at the other end goalkeeper Dan Platt collected a long raking shot from Jarvis
Ryan after 18 minutes. As the game developed into an end-to-end contest, home defender Asa Charlton collected in midfield after 24 minutes and fired a 35 yard shot just inches over the bar. A minute later man-of-the-match
Roberts forced a good save from visiting goalkeeper Alexander Street. At the end of the first period the Yeltz were awarded a free-kick right on the edge of the penalty area, but Jordan Goddard's effort was saved by Street.
Halesowen recovered fully from their early blow to take a 49th minute lead when Lee Hughes converted from the penalty spot after the same player was tripped in the area. Charlton just failed to get a strong enough touch at the far post allowing Street to save from Kelly's long 55th minute free-kick and Roberts then played in Ahmed Ali but he lifted his 63rd minute shot over the bar.
But the visitors increasingly threatened late on and Hughes did well to clear a powerful header off his own goal line from a 66th minute King's Lynn corner. After a couple of home substitutions and increasing pressure, the Linnets eventually found a late equaliser in great style when Frazer
Blake-Tracy delivered a great 83rd minute cross for Harry Limb to score with a bullet diving header.
