The former Baggies favourite scored his third goal in a Yeltz shirt since joining from Worcester.

It was Halesowen’s Marcus Poscha who tried his luck first in the game but his shot was easily saved by Witton goalkeeper Calvin Hare.

But Witton took the lead with captain Rob Hopley’s close-range effort on 17 minutes, his 16th goal of the season.

Calvin Hare produced a great save from a Lee Knight shot on 20 minutes but Nick Ryan turned the ball into his own net on 27 to gift Halesowen an equaliser.

The second half started fairly evenly but Witton took the lead again on 55 minutes when Steve Tames scored from the penalty spot, sending Daniel Platt the wrong way. Halesowen refused to give up though and Hughes’ introduction with Roly Agbor paid dividends on 75 minutes when his shot hit the bar and came back into the path of Ali Ahmed who rammed home the rebound.

Then Hughes popped up with the winner in injury time to move Yeltz six points above relegation rivals Sutton Coldfield.

Hednesford beat Basford 5-0 in the Integro Cup quarter-finals. Danny Glover led the way with a brace.
