Halesowen Town 0 Nantwich Town 1 - Report

Halesowen drifted to a third successive home defeat with a laboured performance after Nantwich's Joe Mwasile hit an early winner.

Exodus Geohaghon's 15th minute long throw-in was almost touched in by Spencer Weir-Daley on his Halesowen debut.

But the Dabbers broke straight up field with a long clearance down the middle and the Yeltz were caught standing as Mwasile outpaced the central defence to hammer past Dan Platt in the 16th minute.

Halesowen created little in the first half after that, although Jack Kelly hit a 22nd minute free-kick straight at visiting on-loan Blackpool goalkeeper Myles Boney.

Late in the first half Mwasile strolled straight through the middle again but his 20 yard shot was parried by Platt with David Forbes unable to keep the rebound down.

Harry Clayton caused more trouble to the home defence in the 40th minute when his shot was deflected away for a corner.

At the start of the second period Enock Ekongo drove past the Nantwich post from 25 yards and Kevin Monteiro volleyed wide.

Home goalkeeper Platt saved a couple of attempts from Matt Bell and Clayton fired over the bar after a neat Nantwich move.

Nantwich were happy to play out the game without too much trouble, although Kelly's 86th minute free-kick was turned away and the resulting corner was scrambled clear.

The Dabbers then held firm from a couple of late long Geohaghon throw-ins and it was Platt who saved from Nantwich substitute Stephen Jones in the final minute of added time.
