Clarke labelled his team's performance 'outstanding' and hopes it can be a catalyst for them to turn their campaign around.

Halesowen have struggled this season and were bottom of the Evo-Stik Premier Division going into the Number Nine Derby today at the War Memorial Ground in Amblecote.

But striker Daniel Udoh scored two first half goals which earned Yeltz victory, while Ryan Rowe scored a second half goal for Stourbridge.

Clarke said: "I thought it was outstanding. From the start, the way we started. We saw the game out in the end. I thought the boys were magnificent."

Clarke said his team was clinical in the counter-attack which created both of their goals.

"What we said was Stourbridge have had a great start to the season," said Clarke.

"The probability is that they will have more possession during the game.

"Our game plan was to soak up the pressure and hit them on the counter because with Dan Udoh and John McAtee, we are very dangerous on the break."

He added: "We hope to build on that performance for the rest of the season. What we have said is our season starts now. There is no good beating your local rivals in front of a big crowd and end up losing your next three. Our season starts today."
