Whieldon almost added a second with a right foot shot that stung the gloves of the Church keeper.

The home side almost equalised when a long ball from Jamie Ashmore found Josh March and his looping header struck the top of the crossbar.

Whieldon was in the thick of the action again getting on the end of a Muzzy Nduna back heel but Gwilliams saved superbly with his left leg.

In the final seconds of the half, Nduna was a whisker wide with a right foot shot that beat the Church keeper but also the post.

Jake Lovatt almost netted a header at the start of the second half from a cross from the left.

Alvechurch levelled with 15 minutes left. Michael Williams conceded a free kick when he handled the ball and Jamie Willetts headed home at the second attempt.

In the 90th minute Alvechurch took the lead with a low March shot which beat Curtis Pond at his left hand post.
