The hosts made a dream start with a goal after 8 minutes. Good approach play by Niall picked out Liam Hardy who fired into the roof of the net.

Two minutes later it was 2-0.

Joe McGee slid the ball through to Doran who drove the ball past Curtis Pond.

Chasetown gave themselves a lifeline when George Cater was sent tumbling in the penalty area and Josh Craddock converted the spot kick in off the Buxton post.

Buxton almost immediately restored their two goal advantage as Hardy capitalised on a defensive lapse to net from the edge of the box.

After the interval, Pond made a superb save to deny Brad Abbott with a strong right hand while Joe Maguire had an effort headed off the line.

Buxton should have sealed the tie in the 80th minute but Hardy missed the chance of his hat trick by rattling the Chasetown crossbar.

Chasetown’s closest effort to getting a way back into the tie came from substitute Nick Wellecomme whose shot on the turn was denied by Joe Budtz.

Greg Young added the fourth in stoppage time to seal the result.
