Chasetown have announced Dave Stringer has stepped down as boss due to family commitments.

He was in charge of the Scholars for two seasons, ending just outside the Evo-Stik First Division South play-offs in his first and then finishing last term 17th.

Chasetown said in a club statement: "First team manager Dave Stringer has reluctantly stepped down from his position, due to family reasons.

"Everyone at the club would like to wish Dave all the best for the future and sincerely thank him for all his efforts during his time at Chasetown.

"Any further announcements will be made in due course."
