Ben Worthington’s 33rd minute goal gave the visitors hope of a result only for Curtis Cocking to pick up two yellow cards and see red after the break, writes Dan Stacey.

Congleton made the man advantage count and netted twice in the second half to secure the win, ending Wulfrunian’s hopes of moving into the top seven.

In the FA Vase, Dudley Town triumphed 7-6 on penalties against Darlaston Town following a hard-fought 2-2 draw in normal time. Joshua Leon McKenzie gave Dudley the lead before goals from Aaron Bishop and James Downing put the visitors in front.

Daniel Danks equalised in the second half to send the game to penalties where the hosts held their nerve to win 7-6 and reach the second round of the competition.

Goals from Joe Clarke, Tom Hurley and Benni Wilson gave Wolverhampton Casuals a 3-1 win over Whittlesea Athletic, while goals from Matthew Thomas (two), Louis Anthony and William Lloyd gave Stone Old Alleynians a 4-1 win over Hinckley.

Jack Benjamin Watts and Adam Patrick Hanson’s goals gave Stourport Swifts a 2-1 win over Sherwood Colliery to secure them safe passage into the next round of the FA Vase.

And Lichfield City’s cup run also continues after they thrashed Romulus 4-1 thanks to goals Liam Kirton (two) and Daniel Lomas and Daniel Smith.

The FA Vase round two draw sees AFC Wulfrunians host Stourport Swifts and Wolverhampton Casuals host Worcester City or Sleaford Town.

Dudley Town will travel to Eastwood Community and Stone Old Alleynians to Ingles or Boston Town.

Lichfield City and Brocton have also been drawn away from home, travelling to Newark & Sherwood United and Ashby Ivanhoe or Belper United respectively.

Ricardo Ricketts was also sent off for Wolverhampton Sporting Community in their 4-1 defeat at Heather St. John’s, with Jack Arnold’s goal proving insignificant on a poor afternoon for the visitors.

Wednesfield’s home game with Coventry Copsewood was postponed, as was Smethwick Rangers’ trip to Stapenhill.
